Let's Just Get That Clear

Let's Just Get That Clear. I have popped some popcorn for all of you because today's MPV might be quite entertaining.Pulpits are not only found in church, but the world is a pulpit.Wherever there is a platform or forum to speak and there is an audience, that is a pulpit. And my God,there are some people who are preaching some 'interesting' gospels on their pulpits. How can one host a show about love, yet they are so cynical about it?A friend of mine commented that the Grinch who stole Christmas is much better, this individual is really mad,(bitter to be precise.)And all I could visualise was Stinkmeaner talking on the radio,(poor listeners.) Yes,everybody has loved and lost, been hurt, but the whole purpose of life is love. The foundation of the earth is based on love, because the Creator of the Universe is love.Since we are entering the Easter Holiday,I pray for this individual to find the message of hope and love,(they need Jesus and to be soaked in His blood,to remove all th

The Promise: When I Say I Do!

When I say, "I do", it is a commitment for a lifetime! Life's short. Less than a yardstick short. Biblically, mankind was granted 120 years on this earth. On average today, mankind has approximately 70 years to live, that is 25,567.5 days. You must be wondering where I am going with this. Does, "I take thee,so and so,to be my lawful, wedded, something,...." sound familiar? Of course, these words are part of the traditional wedding vows. Gosh! Gushing Don't we all just love weddings, where there is the blushing groom, who cant wait to get out of his tuxedo (pretty much because it's uncomfy), and the starry-eyed bride, who wishes the moment would last forever. Forever! A favourite word of many.Imagine the number of songs titled or that include the word 'forever'. I have not heard in a while, one of my favourite songs, 'Forevermore' by Puff Johnson. Oh, I also love hearing that promise of 'forever' by the Okoye twins, 'If you were

It's not you...….Maybe it's me!

Eldom: Do not live a life of s-umptions. I just had one of those weekends, too mellow for my liking.Last night I watched for the second time, the screenplay adaptation of Steve Harvey's book,'Think Like A Man,Act Like A Lady'. Good movie with lots of humour a la Kevin Hart. But it had me thinking and reeling over my relationship faux pas. This is rehab session number three. Remember 'Rated R'?I mentioned the book I am working on,'The Scoreboard'[c].One of the chapters, I share the healing process from the hurt of rejection. In 'The Great Expectations',I mentioned that expectations are the major causes of disappointments which could possibly lead to heartbreak. As I 'studied' the movie,I saw myself in three of the female characters;Taraji P. Henson(the ambitious woman),Meagan Goode(90-day rule girl) and Regina Hall(the single-mum).And yes,I have committed most of the crimes mentioned in the book/movie. And I thought about the infamous Mr X,whom,if

I Am She

"I am she whom out of her womb, brings forth nations." - Eloya Somaine A pinch and a punch for the new month. March is one of my favorite months, mainly because things really start moving. March is also Women's month, to be specific, Black Women's Month. And as a black woman, I have a strong sense to make my mark on the world and be empowered. And as a young woman I have women who inspire me to move towards my ambitions. I aim to be an inspiration, role model(although a burden to carry), to other women and once empowered; I can also empower other women. So which black women inspire me? Not taking anything away from them, the most important women in my life, the women in my family. My gran(epitomizes Madea), my late mother who was the epitome of femininity, grace and class, my older sister who is my living shero, my babakazi , hardworking and prayerful women, my many crazy-beautiful sisters, aunts and my sisters-in-law. They are the grassroots of who I am, they continu

Swagger Like My Daddy

Here's to my King from my King! For every Queen, there's a King. Last Friday I talked about the women who influence my ambitions and inspire me, but it is the combination with the male version of them, that inspires me more. As a young, single lady, who is on the market, of course, there are qualities I search for in a partner. To me the most important thing is obviously, connection. Connection goes beyond the physical, it is mental, emotional and even more, spiritual. And I have learned that like terms do attract more than opposites when it comes to relationships. Somehow couples have to 'mirror' each other, share the same vision, have complementing or matching ambitions, and just 'get' each other even without verbal communication. Wouldn't it be so refreshing to find someone with whom you do not have to try so much to improve? You just fit like a hand in a glove. So what does Lady E want? Someone like me. Intelligent, down-to-earth, ambitious, has persona

Rated R

NOTE:No animals were harmed in this write-up.(To be specific, the male specie that women term as 'dogs') '....I did not illtreat you...',a message that still makes the minute hairs of my skin stand up.Words that would make any woman seethe in anger, after being strung along, and the jerk cowardly justifies himself, via text. So today,I am checking myself and any woman who has been through the hands of a male best described as, douchebag! Let me school you,a douchebag is a guy who has surpassed the levels of jerk and asshole; in short, A-list ego, D-list status. Today ladies,we are Rated R, R for Revenge. How do you revenge that jerk who ripped your heart out, humiliated you,you aided him in defiling your temple and is the constant, tormenting poltergeist in your mind, huh? Unfortunately,in as much as we would love the Universe to punish him,by Karma, some guys just go scorch-free.Their lives can actually get better, they will look uber hot and probably sett
