The Do-Over

There’s something about a new year that often get people excited and often it’s the idea of a fresh start. If life was a diary or memoir then on the first day of January of the new year the entry would be, ’Page one of the book of 2017, dear diary…,” with the hope that by page 365 or 366 in a leap year, the story will have a happily ever after or at least, “In the year 2017 I have met most of my goals despite…but…happened to me, so I’m grateful for…” Well, for me 2017 feels like I have turned back the hands of time to a year which I ended up regretting and experienced events that changed my life and perceptions of life. For those who are diligent with their calendars and maybe are obsessive about the Gregorian timeline as well as solar and lunar activities would have realised that 2017 is similar to the year 2012. January 1 2012 commenced on a Sunday and January 1 2017 also began on a Sunday, so for those who have unused diaries from 2012, you might as well use those just don’t forg...

The Faults of Karma

Karma is nobody's friend so don't bet on her! “What goes around comes around, what goes up must come down, now who’s crying, desiring to come back to me,”-Karma, Alicia Keys I remember this one day by the traffic lights as my mentor walked me towards the rank where I got my transport to go home and he said to me, “I believe that one day you will be very successful and rise and Mr X will be at his lowest point and realise that you were a good one…that he shouldn’t have let go!” Bless my mentor’s heart, apart from men in my family; he’s the only man who sees me. To be honest it’s been four years since the Mr X incident or ‘situationship’, two of those I have neither bumped into him nor (and hallelujah) ‘stalked’ him (oh, please, don’t even judge me, the man was stalking me too, remember he used to read my blogs on his platform, and even spent the whole night looking over my table at a bar, so it was mutual). Unfortunately he and I very much share a very small circle, being i...

Dirty Laundry Diaries: Last Friday Night...

Last Friday Night... After a long hiatus from this blog, I've decided to make my return but this time with a vengeance...lol! So as part of my comeback, my blog has changed slightly a bit, same girl but different ish! (The vocabulary has become very colorful!) So my weekend was too cold to freeze a.k.a chilled for my liking but I managed to get the amount of rest that my weary body deserved. So what happened last Friday night, other than playing the third wheel with my sister and her man? Nothing much! But in line with the title of today's blog, I'll share what happened the last Friday of the last. These days I have ditched friends and have gone all family and that is how I roll. So my best friend who happens to be my younger sister, went out for our Friday drinks at our favourite spot in town. (Totally love the ambiance and the deejays are quite cute-one being hotter than the other and they play an amazing set of deep house music). Before I go on, t...

Script My Life: Honey 2

Hmm. I've lost my mojo...  Haven't felt like writing of late.(Haha, who cares!)*rolling eyes*. Muse ain't amusing. (Delivering negative vibes). And someone said to me, 'He's a somebody; and you are a nobody!'. Wow! (And I died a little more inside). Script my life:Honey 2. A sequel to Honey,a dance movie which starred Jessica Alba; this time it actually stars some real dancers including J.Lo's squeeze, Casper Smart, choreographers Laurien Gibson, Christopher 'War' Martinez, and Rosero McCoy, (who choreographed most of the dances in the movie). Troubled 17-year old Maria Bennet, has been released from juvenile hall, and is placed under the custody of legendary, Honey Daniels' mother, Connie. Maria is given a second chance to straighten her ways. She decides to get a job at a local store, owned by Mr Kapoor. Her love for dance is revived when she is asked by Brandon to train his dance crew.the HDs. Her ex-boyfriend,Luis ,leader of her form...

Ain't No Gold Digger

"(She take my money)/Now I ain't saying she a gold digger/(When I'm in need)/But she ain't messing with no broke niggas...."- Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx (Man, that was a good jam. Kanye at his prime) "A man can lose money chasing women but he will never lose women chasing money",he said. (Ironically,he's slept with a lot of women in the city, still chases them, dunno about him having money). And some girl claims he's a gentleman.(My foot!).It amazes me how the males, especially 'famous' males,in this country, have this mentality that every female they meet wants their money. What money?(You haven't met real money until you have 'Sheikh money' a.k.a 'Arab money'.Ask Janet). And in my head I'm thinking,''what the....'',*raised eyebrow*,really??My response,"But one woman can make a man a millionaire.''Yes,truth be told,no woman wants to be a 'broke' guy,(love is good but,m...

Mr X

Had he had a car at the time we met, I would have 'bust the windows' of his car, (well now he drives a BMW apparently).  Mr X. My Muse. The reason that my MPV is my form of therapy. But then again, I might have to thank him for indirectly inspiring me. These days, I speak very little of Mr X. Of course, X is for-exterminated; exiled and excluded. His first name is actually D. D for dangerous, devil's son, destroyer and of course, Douchebag. (But why am I so mad?). I am not. I actually upgraded him from dirtbagville by almost 50%. He has some redeeming qualities that offer him some humanity. Thanks to Mr X I realised my own deep sitted issues with myself. I also learnt more about male behaviour and the dos and don'ts of 'relationships'. That's if you want to have one. But sadly, I really did like Mr X, (and fell very hard). I will admit I still do. But we all know what is said about males like Mr X..... Maybe someday, hopefully in this lifetime....?...
